Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Dexa Technologist will perform bone densitometry procedures as ordered by a licensed provider and utilize independent judgment in determining appropriate techniques, positioning, and safety practices.
In this role, you will:
- Assist with and coordinate patient scheduling.
- Perform bone density exams, assuming responsibility for patient’s care, safety, and physical comfort; Reduce patient anxiety by explaining the procedure process, answering patient questions and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Distribute results to clinics as required.
- Maintain and archive complete patient study.
- Ensure the safe and accurate operation of equipment by completing quality control requirements, referral for preventative maintenance, and following manufacturer instructions.
- Generate quality control records daily in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain and order supplies.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Instruct and train students, residents, fellows and other staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain technical competency through continuing education and participate in sponsored training programs.
- Graduate of a Radiologic Program.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- ARRT required.
- Starting Salary: $35 per hour, Based on experience and certifications.
